I decided to try regular AR DS codetypes instead of ASM for a change.

In-Game Player Name Changer

type the name you want in the text entry screen, highlight it, copy it, and press L+R
For example, if I wanted to be named "Tom Nook" I'd simply type "Tom Nook" and then highlight my text, copy it, and press L+R
Because you use the game's very own keyboard to type your name, there's no need to use a list of characters and values.
