It all started a little over a month ago. Joe and myself had been doing extensive research on Valve's Steam Community. After a couple of days I had written an app to mass invite members into a Steam Group. Long story short, we used this to create a rather large group in a short period of time. Well, apparently Valve's Head of Legal Affairs didn't like this. Before I continue I should probably explain a little bit more about our group. We decided to name it the Friends Project because that's exactly what it was; an experiment using Steam Friends. When our experiment seemed to be going well, we decided to buy a game server and populate it with members from the group. It was about this time when we had legal troubles with Valve. It became apparent that we would need a new way to populate our server. We had to keep our project going until we could rebuild our massive group. This is when we resorted to using our own exploits to redirect entire servers full of people to our empty server. Without such a talented group of people, this project would've fallen apart a long time ago. We are currently rebuilding our group and keeping our server alive off of our own redirect exploits. We'll see where this goes. The project has until February to either sink or swim. To be continued...
