I decided to try regular AR DS codetypes instead of ASM for a change.

type the name you want in the text entry screen, highlight it, copy it, and press L+R
For example, if I wanted to be named "Tom Nook" I'd simply type "Tom Nook" and then highlight my text, copy it, and press L+R
Because you use the game's very own keyboard to type your name, there's no need to use a list of characters and values.

A friend of mine noticed that it doesn't work properly :/

Here's what I did in order to fix it a bit: add 2 spaces before you start typing so the code works almost-perfect. I'm still having problems inputting 8 characters though, but the names should be like:

Demonic:

[spacehere][spacehere]Demonic

Shawn:

[spacehere][spacehere]Shawn

All I did was add two spaces before you start typing.
