Ok, erm, I tried out the editted code in your post (without patching), but it didn't work.

i tried the EU ROM using my trainer maker and the nitrohax version of the code and it works for me .. i haven't take a look nor tried the NitroHax and its codehandler so i can't directly say if it the NitroHax or its codehandler that causes the culprit but technically it should work ..

There is a full list of normal hex codes on aiobiohack.com and there is a list of hex codes (seeds included) on the site.
