Well heres what I wonder.... A tomato isn't technically a fruit..... I think a tomato seed is a fruit and a tomato is a vegetable. It could be argued that all vegetation is a fruit!

a tomato is a fruit because it's directly used for reproduction. that's the whole point of a tomato. if it wasn't used for that, then the plant would just drop the seeds without a fruit around them
