    There is only one port for SD/Mini Reader on my HP Pavillion. I only have one disc...

    yeah reformat it or use the USB reader that came with the Acecard instead of sticking it in that and using the SD card's reader. Just use the micro sd reader

    I cant format it since its write-protected.

    use the micro sd adapter that came with it. One of them may look like this. (It is not the one that came with the Acekard though)

    Most readers will slide the lock switch into the lock position most of the time. (that goes for most older ones)

    The best solution I've seen, which it may or may not work, is to put tape around the switch. <- No joke.
