It automatically removes your HBC, and there is a SMALL chance that your Wii will brick. I updated and everything works fine.
EDIT: Wasn't there a way to update without removing the HBC, or was that to just update the Wii Shop Channel? If someone could clear that up...

And your opinion matters?
this page should be of some help to you.![]()
We shall go on to the end, we shall fight in System software and IOS,
We shall fight on the updates,
We shall defend our homebrew, whatever the cost may be,
We shall fight on the preloader,
We shall fight on the bootloader,
We shall never surrender, and even if, which I do not for a moment believe, this Island or a large part of it were subjugated and starving, then our Empire beyond the seas, armed and guarded by the twiizer Fleet, would carry on the struggle. We are the future of Homebrew.
Yeah, there was an update, go on hbc, and if it asks u to upgrade it, agree, then you can update harmlesly
Rather pointless to update at the moment, personally think that it isnt worth it. Honestly I'm still on 3.2
Say what you mean, mean what you say, and let your actions speak for you.

There is no reason to update. If your wii plays backups, and wiiware backups work from the sd card, leave it be. If it aint broke, don't fix it.
