Anyway I converted my town map teleport code to 1.1 (so I could reply to your post >_> you aren't supposed to post in this section)
Open your menu, go to the map of your town, hold L and maneuver the cursor to a location on the map (anywhere is fine)
Then, while still holding L, press A. Your character will be teleported to that location.
