Changing AC:CF villagers with Gecko?

Is there any posible way I can change my characters with Gecko os? I Tried the Ac tool kit and NPC tool but, my data gets corupted either extracting it or Installing the save i lost my town that ive had since dec. and even the backup didnt work so i started over But i would really like my favorite Character Al, the guerilla back if anyone knows a way to put him in with gecko i would be so greatful!

There are 2 things I would like to know and put a point across:

1) Always keep a backup regardless of the situation.

2) What version of Animal Crossing are you using? PAL or NTSC?

I made a backup it didnt matter though it wouldnt go back on without corupting it

Did it ever work? (or did you change something recently)
Try reinstalling the Install/Extract tools and the gamesave on a different SD card.

Using Gecko OS, there are "cheat codes" for making changes, but they are limited. For major changes, use ACToolkit, NPC_Tool and the others. The Extract / Install process must be working perfectly. Get that working properly first so you won't lose your town.

ya i tried that, it transfered my ssbb data and it transfered the second new town i had made. I tried actool kit corupted my data, so i loaded the untouched backup town, corupted. tried the backup again still corupted.

so is there no way ill be able to use gecko to get a character back in my town?

You don't add snowmen when you use ACToolkit do you? If just one is added it corrupts your whole save file. If not your best bet is to send someone your game save for closer inspection.

no, but most of the time i didnt even edit it, i was just trying to get it to work without corupting it i got it to go once but that was it. but it was without editing it.
