"Hacked" DLC - the New Plan (comments please)

This thread is discussing the "new plan". For a number of reasons the "new plan" has been discontinued.

The *new* new plan is simpler. Make a new item, with a 3D model with texture, and eventually it may appear as a hacked DLC item.
For 3D modelling I recommend MilkShape3D: http://chumbalum.swissquake.ch

Would it be possible to make kites as HDLC? Perhaps using either regular or bunny balloon as template. Just throwing out some idea or perhaps questions since I would love to fly those kites instead of balloon.

Yes. Balloon items float above you. I was thinking of making some simple shapes (spheres -- maybe floating poke-balls ?-)

Unfortunately the existing balloons are too large (too round). They won't fit as DLC.
"Kite" models are not round, and should fit.

Please try the MilkShape3D program ( http://chumbalum.swissquake.ch ; free for 30days, cheap to register after that if you like it).
Make up a simple 3D model for a kite, and simple texture. If it looks good in MilkShape3D, then it may look good in Animal Crossing.
