I'm not sure that the GameCube chest celebrates the anniversary of AC:PG. Why? Because the GameCube chest is being sent out to EU players, PLUS AC:PG was released in March or May. (For them) So IDK why they sent it. We'll find out once Nintendo updates their news page.
That's just my thought, but I could be wrong. :U

Shortly after the ladder shades, Nintendo has released three new DLC items
(eggplant cow", "GameCube dresser", "hopscotch floor"). Version .2 "s" (see first page of this thread)

Thanks to hacking (and general trading) the region specific exclusives don't stay exclusive very long.
