Here's a random question, but pertains to the actual topic:
Why aren't all of my festive trees festive? All the ones I planted on the top level aren't lit, but the ones near the beach are. I checked my town map and for some reason they are set to pine trees. Why is this?

Oh, and i even changed them back to festive trees but they convert back to pines. I don't know what I'm doing wrong.

So should I not put them around the gate or on the upper level of my town? Is it a location thing or a random thing?
It's the economy, trying to save money making budget cuts.
