where can I find a cat texture?
Switch an npc to a cat and export the textures..?
Gavin, provided you are familiar with npc_tool, you can export any NPC's textures. Just change the prototype of the npc that is messed up and export the cats textures, replace the old ones with the new ones then import and save. But just changing the prototype of the messed up npc alone should fix the error.
you know, after the update and everything, I completely forgot that you could do that! XD
I've only known for like 2 weeks now. lol
its says you can edit 20 villigers but how do you get 20 it will only let me edit 10? :(
> its says you can edit 20 villigers but how do you get 20 it will only let me edit 10?
You can only have up to 10 villagers in your town at one time.
In the process of NPC villagers moving in/out of your town, the other slots may be filled with "frozen" (zombie) NPC villagers. If you customize them and they move to another town over WiFi, then all the customization will go with them. That way even non-hackers can get 'hacked'/customized NPC characters
Hi everyone, I have some troubles for editing the palete or texture of my NPC Wolfgang...
When I try to import it, there is always the same error : "Missing or bad GBADecmp.dll"... I'm with the lastest version.
Someone can Help me ? Thanks.
Try redownloading the NPC_Tool, and if that doesn't work try downloading that .dll then.
http://www.romhacking.net/utils/GBADecmp.zip
[Here] is some info about it and what it does.
Edit: I'm not sure if the download link works because you have to login. It doesn't hurt to register if you need the .dll though.
Thanks but your link don't work. ^^'
http://rapidshare.com/files/208368616/GBADecmp.zip.html Here's the .dll file. I uploaded to rapidshare for you. Only 10 link limit so get it soon :p. I hope it helps
Thank you Wiifan, I'm going to try. ^^
I put the file in the folder of the NPC but it don't work... Where I have to put this file ?
Anyone have a Pedobear NPC edit to share? I was making one but screwed up.
Don't work again... If someone have an other idea...
You're not clicking on the .dll file are you?
I need to click on it for change texture ? o_o
Yes, I'm using it now. I gave a NPC a Tattoo lol.
Is it possible to use this for those "Animal Crossing Recession Tragedy" like on your site? Those were funny lulz.
> Don't work again... If someone have an other idea...
Please use the .DLL provided in the .ZIP file.
http://www.aibohack.com/wii/npc_tool.htm.
The NPC_Tool.EXE and the GBADecmp.DLL files go in the same folder. Not the folder containing the NPC data.

Not with NPC_Tool. A runtime code (AKA Ocarina/GeckoOS code) or USB Gecko poking is needed to tweek the special characters.
Here's a Donkey Kong I made. Not sure how to upload it though...

For those of you having trouble using your downloaded characters, I think I may have a tip. You import the textures and it's saying nothing's changed, correct? Change something. Go into the NPC folder and open one of the eyes bitmaps with Windows paint. Press cntrl + Pg dwn three times to magnify your view. In the very top two lines of pixels, add a single dot of whatever color. this part doesn't seem to show up on the maps that I've used, so it doesn't really matter. save and import the textures, and it should notice that something has changed. Now your NPC should load up just fine. If you load up and he's got a dot on his head somewhere, just edit the dot out later. the npc is now recognized, so it's all good.
I've tried to use the most recent version of the NPC_tool (4b), and I edited my villagers.. But when I get to the original screen (the one that says Edit NPCs, Export Textures, Save and Exit, etc), the villagers on the scroll-down list are still the same. I also noticed that it took only a second or two for the edited save file to be installed into my Wii.
Is there any way to fix this? :( I'd really like to change my neighbors.
the importing back to your Wii will always be fast (at least it always has for me).
You won't notice any changes in the list until you save and exit then open the program again.
thats an awesome DK! can u upload the bitmaps, pl0x?
You know when you are putting your neighbors in? And you have a list of neighbors to choose from, are they all from AC:CF or are there some from AC:WW and AC:GC? I am just wondering because there is a big list of neighbors to choose from :p
I know it's not NPC characters, but can the same methods be used to extract and edit the ground patterns? Are the grasses and snows represented by a single bmp that is altered for wear, or are there 255 versions of each one?
> ...you have a list of neighbors to choose from, are they all from AC:CF or are there some from AC:WW and AC:GC?
The neighbors are all from the game (AC:CF). Nintendo decided which ones to include (taking some from the older games). Apparently they missed a few, but with some editing you should be able to re-create them.
> ...but can the same methods be used to extract and edit the ground patterns?
Yes, and no. Possible, but not sharable.
The graphics editing steps can be done on other parts of the game, and changed with a WiiRD or cheat code. However the results will only be visible in your town. This applies to other changes to the way the game works. What you see may be cool, but only you see it.
Most of the gamesave tools on this website are for changing the game in ways that impact the normal game, and work perfectly over WiFi (ie. town editing, pattern editing, NPC editing, or DLC installation). What you see is what your friends see when they visit your town.
You can share neighbors textures on this thread
Already exist another DK made by Demerzel and comes with a nice pattern to wear ;)
is it posible to make an ACCF player tool? to edit the face just like theres this for animals, I have a purple lid character but his eyes are not symetric, i really want to make them look the same
----
oh also i wanna point out the fact that in the Japanese version of ACCF there are different eye colors, the ones for girls that come in brown color in the US, are black on Japan, does anyone know how to change those?
----
Merged
thats is a question you ask in th actoolkit thread.
re: Japanese characters with black eye color.
Interesting observation, but not surprising.
It looks like the human models have different coloring (ie. "blue eyes, lids" on the RUUE and RUUP versions are black eyes with lids on RUUJ). So no easy or WiFi sharable way to do it.

For new features related to editing graphics, please post/discuss on this thread.

If someone discovers something new, that can be sharable over WiFi, then expect it to move into one of the gamesave tools (like ACToolkit or NPC_Tool).
is there anyway to expand on editing the villagers houses?? i hate putting in a tv but it not face the couch lol... if not nvm. thanks!
> is there anyway to expand on editing the villagers houses?? i hate putting in a tv but it not face the couch lol...
That's one of those obscure features I never bothered with (even in the AC:WW version). Like the main house, each furniture item layout has 4 possible orientations (the bottom 2 bits of the item code). But there is a more direct approach:
Have you tried the rearrange villager's house cheat code? - http://www.usbgecko.com/codes/index.php?r=u&c=RUUE01
i recall that code but if i remember correctly the items went back to the way they were once you left the house... oh and you cant drop stuff outside either
re: using the runtime code.
IIRC it didn't work properly, but that's why I asked (haven't used runtime cheat codes in a long time, gamesave editing is way cooler ;-)
Can be added to NPC_Tool, but it doesn't edit the location in the room.
> oh and you cant drop stuff outside either
Please explain.
I was reading the tutorial on NPC recoloring, which I have done successfully. I read that the background color could be "transparent." Is there a specific color that the game sees as transparent, and if so what is it. Or is it more specific to certain NPC and I have to hunt for ones with a transparent color in their pallette. Thanks Much.
