Me too,the shamrock hat cannot be place in pocket or town map(already try with ACToolkit),but the other DLCs(except shamrock hat) can, what wrong?
There seems to be a bug in EZ_DLC_Install. I am unable to get the shamrock hat to install (changes don't save).
I had no problem using toolkit with my save where I got the hat in a legit manner.
Shamrock hat fix
Version .1f up there now. Something bogus in the build.

Okay. I just tried the new version out and it said old experimental DLC items found: ADB0
But that code is for the Black knit hat. And I also didn't have any DLC in the town I was using it on.
> ...it said old experimental DLC items found: ADB0
Ignore it, it does no harm.
I am still tweeking the item code game ranges (try to anticipate future Nintendo DLC).
Why in EZ_DLC_Install the giant axes and crayon aren't avaiable?
It says that have the same code, but I want a Giant axe and not a Blue Sabre, for example...
What are all the hacked DLC that exist?
Released now, see first post.
> It says that have the same code, but I want a Giant axe and not a Blue Sabre, for example...
You can pick two "chopping weapons" at a time. Not all combinations are possible, but it should be good enough to play with.
With the Overlapped approach ("OHDLC") experimental items can be quickly released for people to play with, without eating up a permanent DLC 'slot' (we only have 256 total, and must share them with Nintendo).
Item_TOOL and LMT coming soon. The tutorials will show how you can create all these items.
I just want to say these are AWESOME :]
The guitar is so fun xD
Wonderful stuff as always, sir. LOVE the guitar axe. Have to say the lame katana is a little... lame. mostly just because the blade has an awkward relationship with the animation. oh yeah... and it's pink. lol. I do like how it looks from the side at the end of a swing, though. Crayons are actually more fun than I thought they'd be, and so are the axes. Looking forward to the next addition! Hopefully a new hat? I'd like to see the wooden mannequin thingy that hats are displayed on used as a helmet. that would be funny. very much looking forward to the tools. hoping to pick up a gecko very soon.
^Took the words right outta my mouth! :D
It does kind of suck that you cant show your other friends the new DLC items unless they download them... And you cant givethem away :[
I think it's much safer for the cause this way. Taking up more hex positions at this point in development could prove a bad idea down the line. I feel like it might also end up being useful in determining which items make it in the game. Like when we hold voting, we can narrow it down to three items and then stick em in the ohdlc slots to test them out in game and see which one we like most! No alarms and no surprises! Then we have a finalist vote to determine which item actually makes it in!
YES ! You made the Katana sword ! Thanks so much for this ! ^^
But.... Why it's Pink ? O_O
Nice job on the guitar too ! Keep' going !
> ...Have to say the lame katana is a little... lame

I was disappointed with the Katana. You'll see some of these problems in the tutorial (coming soon). The ITEM_Tool/LMT take existing items (like the furniture swords on stands or guitars on stands) and try to convert them to work has hand carrying weapons.
The model choices for swords were poor. The best one was the white katana. The texture looked good, but for some reason it had a pink bias, so I removed the texture map. You can tweek it with ITEM_Tool when released.
In contrast, the guitar model worked excellent. The folk guitar was the best model, and it turned into a weapon easily with no texture problems (BTW: there is a transparent spot on the bottom) - as disussed earlier http://game-hackers.com/forum/showpo...&postcount=146
Why did you overlap them? I really wanted to show them to my non-hacker friends :[
So it wouldnt take up more space...
I have to say, well done! :D
I don't know how much work it would be, but it future releases I think it would be nice if we had more control of the slots. Like, what if I wanted a red lightsaber and the guitar axe, you can't really do this with the current release. It might also be cool to be able to replace some of Nintendo's lame dlc with the hacked ones, of course I suppose you would have to stick with a similar type of item if you don't want to see all your friends coming over decapitated since you replaced the red pikmin hat with a lightsaber, or you would be decapitated if you replaced the lame Nintendo top with some cool mask, like ... a Darth Vader mask or something
People would lose it if there was the option to replace nintendo dlc. It's the exact reason they lost it about regular hdlc in empty slots.
"What if what if what if nintendo releases a dlc in a slot that has a hdlc. Then I won't get nintendo's item wah!"
Even though Nintendo has been releasing crap items and will most likely continue along this trend (boys school uniform? TWO pieces?!) using up more and more dlc slots for rubbish items. People will still want to be able to get it rather than hdlc. the hdlc must go in empty slots so that nintendo can work around them and nobody will freak out.
All that being said, I agree that it would be nice to be able to use any of the "axe" ohdlc items in either of the code slots made for axe items. Though I'm sure it's probably done that way for a reason, it would definitely make things even more convenient than they already are. Just a thought.
Idon't think Nintendo's DLC items are crap. All of them have been good.
"Then you and I are on two different wavelengths."
I highly disagree, but that's my personal opinion. I don't think I'm the only one. I like the tokonoma and could take or leave the red pikmin hat. that's about it. They are Nintendo, and they should be making better items than the top (ridiculous), girl's day updo (terribly ugly), and shamrock hat (green top hat with a buckle...).
I don't like ALL of the DLC items. Only the top, the Tokonoma and the pikmin hat. The rest aren't that good.
EDIT: Oh and Vash. Is it possible to release the hat that makes your head invisible? I thought that was really cool!
I did that by accident, just put on the red or blue pikmin hat, extract your save, delete the hat with EZDLC upload the save and now you are suddenly headless, just don't try to remove it or have extras lying around your town or house or your game will lock up, otherwise everything should work out fine.
thanks for that, tominator. That's a pretty neat little trick I didn't even think about. would that mean it's possible to chop down trees while holding nothing at all? I wonder if the arms would disappear...
I'm not sure how possible that would be. I don't think you can code an item to "not" be there. We might be able to take something that covers the whole head and doesn't show any face (samus helmet?) and then make the entire texture transparent. That might work, but I really don't know.
Ok, I have a few questions for whoever can answer them:
Who gets to make the OHDLC?
Once there is more HDLC, will that make another space available for OHDLC?
Up to how many OHDLC can be made with one hacked dlc?
Can OHDLC be made with official nintendo items?
Sorry if my questions arent clear enough (or have already been answered before), I just found out about overlapped hdlc.
> Who gets to make the OHDLC?
Once ITEM_Tool is released (behind schedule for the tutorial), you can make items for testing in your own town. With a little more work, I will turn them into "OHDLC" for testing (for "OHDLC", the bar is relatively low. Hopefully something better than crayons ;-)
> Once there is more HDLC, will that make another space available for OHDLC?
We can add more OHDLC slots at any time. I'm planning on eating up 8 of them eventually (with different item types like slingshot, net etc)
> Up to how many OHDLC can be made with one hacked dlc?
Each OHDLC slot can hold one item at a time (from the growing list of possible items)
> Can OHDLC be made with official nintendo items?
Yes, but why bother.
New items will likely be changed versions of the official nintendo items (like the guitar axe, or recolored/retextured furniture items). Either built-in Nintendo items or Nintendo DLC (eg: the ShinyBluePikmin hat)
The Official Nintendo "slots" will be left alone for reasons explained earlier.
^<<<<<<<<<<I tried out the new odlc
So can we mix saber with crayons?
Lets use our brains here... if it replaces a sabre (I'm assuming it does.. really haven't looked) can you still see the sabre? HMMMMM..... (Sorry if I'm sounding like an *** here.. >.>)
haha come on think a little bit before asking questions ;)
If you look here you will see that you can select a green cray on with a blue light sabre or red crayon with the red lightsabre etc. etc. (Click here for the exact image I'm referring to)
Also in the text on the page...
Hope this helps :PQuote:
