For those that are planning on using this tool for development I recommend you setup your wii to use a hard drive and usb loader such as wiiflow. So that you can test quickly, update quickly and test some more. Here is the best guide that i have found to set that up....I recommend using wiiflow the other loaders gave me issues(you can just google wiiflow)

Oh,really?

Here is my 100% save file for NSMB Wii. BTW this is for the NTSC version, although im gonna post some very helpful information that allows users to convert their NSMB save from PAL to NTSC and vice versa.
I did not discover this method, I just tried it when my save was pal, now its ntsc and all is working perfectly. So for you with the PAL game, take this save and convert it to PAL and you can have 100% also.
There are like 2 star cannons that I didnt get to, also I didnt rescue the toads. But every level is unlocked and every star coin is also collected. I just figured this may help with any Tanooki users.
Convert instructions are as follows.
1. First move your NTSC-U save to the SD (for backup purposes). It's the one that says "A new Mario adventure!"
2. Run NSMBW and create a new NTSC-U save without starting the game (you can exit the game after the "creating new game save" message).
3. Open Savegame Manager and select "extract" and "SD".
4. Find your NSMBW saves (should be listed twice, one for each region) and extract them.
5. Now take your SD card and put it in your computer.
6. In the root of your SD card you will find the "savegames" folder. Make a backup of it just in case.
7. Open the "savegames" folder and you will find two more folders. The one that ends with "45" is NTSC-U and the one that ends with "50" is your PAL save. Open the PAL folder (00010000534d4e50) and open "wiimj2d.sav" with your hex editor.
8. The very first thing you should see on the text side is "SMNP". Change the "P" to "E" (yes it is case sensitive) and save.
9. Copy the edited "wiimj2d.sav" to your NTSC-U folder (00010000534d4e45), and delete the PAL folder.
10. Now insert the SD card back into your Wii and launch Savegame Manager.
11. This time select "install" then "SD" and install your NSMBW save.
12. You can delete the PAL save file after you confirm it works. The PAL one says "Play Mario with your friends!," and as stated above the NTSC-U says "A new Mario adventure!"
Remember this is for PAL to NTSC so you'll kinda have to do opposite of the steps.
I took the time to set up the PAL save for anybody that doesnt understand the instructions. Always back up your save in case anything goes wrong though. Enjoy

"Two psychedelic North American hackers, Virus and Vash, have hacked the New Super Mario Bros. for the Nintendo Wii within days of it's North American release. Virus and Vash has released a level editor named Tanooki, which allow users to edit current levels of the game and replaces them with their own. Another level editor hack entitled, REGGIE!, was also released by coder Treeki. Both of these hacks have more potential then what the imagination can handle. To bad that these hacks only work on computer and ran off of emulation. Just remember, things can happen if you put your mind into it people. The sky, well the flagpole, is the limit."
LMAO.

BETA 0.3 released. Just something for everyone to play with while we add in Stage-to-Save level injecting, tons of new sprites, and our own little surprise
Enjoy, everyone!
Awesome... ;)
I'll try to help out with those hexes...
Happy Thanksgiving, all of you Americans :) To everybody else, happy November 26th? Anyway, I've decided to make another BETA release today. I know, two in a row like this? It's getting hard to keep up...
Introducing my personal favorite out of all of the planned features, the Tanooki Toolkit! I'll let the screenshot explain.
There haven't been any changes to the actual editor since yesterday's BETA release, but I wanted to get the toolkit out there for you guys to enjoy :) Let me know what you think!
Nice work keep it up and hope it stays free :P
The Toolkit is epic, thanks Vash!
BETA 0.5 released :) Major improvements to the toolkit, including the ability to unlock all worlds and unlock all videos. Also added the ability to edit score, coins, and start world. Enjoy!
Yay, Thanks Vash
Hi, I registered to this forum only because of my interest in Level Editing... Back in the day, I was really involved with mario vs dk 2 for the DS and made over 400 levels trying to discover glitches etc.. I have youtubes of some of my levels as well as friends found on forums across the world. Take a look.

This is almost the worst thread yo could've put it on. You should put in your sgnatue the video link so when you come back to say thanks likee you should've we can all see it. Thanks for the tool vash. wish we could level edit with just the save though. Still awesome.
This.................I srsly came. This is awesome, but does it work on PAL? I'm still using a pal version ;-;
wow i cant believe i just saw this... man im so late xD but seriously this is awesome.
Great NSMBW level editor!
Thanks, is very interesting.
I am new with the concept of wii hacking but may I ask how do you get an ISO?
Released Tanooki V1.0. No level editor. Just save editor. It's fairly obvious why. Enjoy!
Those Reggie! idiots haven't even released it. I say you release Tanooki with the save and level editor encorporated.
:(file://L:/nds/Simple.SAV HELP! I no this is off topic but pleez help me with dis ACWW file
P.S. PLEEZ REPLY
XD stupid idiot... post in right section.
Ohai thar Vash. Didn't know I was gone.
You should atleast do this: Incorporate the level editor (the current one) into the save editor and just have one amazing program.
Why the sudden change? Did the Reggie! idiots offer you some money or something? You guys were like "Stupid Reggie! Idiots. We can make one too without having these guys harras us on GBATemp Forums"
I smell something fishy. Shed some light on it Vashy.
i posted it in here cuz peepul were taking here!
The people causing the trouble were fans of the Reggie! project. Treeki, the main developer on the Reggie! team, is very respectful of our work. I respect his project (while I may dislike others on his team) and Virus and myself have decided that they have a wonderful level editor and there's no need to reinvent the wheel. We'd prefer to have a program that compliments their work, rather than compete with it.
Hmm... ok. Why the change though? I mean, you guys knew about REGGIE this entire time, so why not continue?
I agree, Tanooki would have been Excellent if you had completed it.
Version 1.1 released. Now includes a region converter.
Version 1.2 released with experimental Stage-To-Save system of loading custom levels.
Thanks for the new version Vashy. :3
When I was using it earlier, all my items were set to x0, but I could use them as if they were x1, etc.
Plus, I was back at World 3 (unbeaten) when I'm supposed to be at World 4 almost halfway through it.
Same goes for the lives. I set it for x99, and it kicks back to the default x5. Any ideas?
