It'll be done by Monday. Hopefully after ACToolkit 2.0 comes out.

Here it is, the demo town. An NTSC-U save for ACToolkit. The Zip file is in the format needed by Savegame Installer, just put the RUUE folder into a folder called "WIISAVES" on the root of your SD card.
Sweet, thanks! :)
Now that I've gotten to play around with a demo town, I must say this is one impressive tool. It is definitely AC:CF's AnimalMap. Nicely done :)
Wow your doing a great job! :D i rly like these new features:
- Make the map editor window sizable. << yea it was kinda small lol
- Add support for moving the fountain, lighthouse/windmill, and any unknown buildings.
- Add a modifier to switch between the lighthouse and windmill.
- Add drawer/cabinet editor. << useful
- Add acre editor. <<< rly need this 1
- Add Nook's store editor.
- Clear Nook's sold out flags.
- Add recycle bin editor. <<<I heard ppl say u can store seeds in here
- Add lost and found editor.
- Add shoe style modifier. <<<that one is cool
- Add bury/unbury items.
- Display player and town names.
- Write up a tutorial/documentation.
Can't wait :)
This works great, however a basic River editing (or just showing where the river runs itself) would be great, I often wind up having all the items I add between cliffs or in the middle of a stream.
Keep up the good work, though!
Beta 2 is up. I'm a little late though. As always, let me know if you find any bugs.
Thanks for the upgrade! Will definitely check it out.
sweet thnx. Hey not to be lik rude or nything, im asking like in a curious wayy, do u think name changers wil b in the nex 1?
Wow, alot of improvement Virus. That cabinet moddifier was a good idea (Now I dont have to use Pocket Mod so much).
Good job Virus. This is fun to screw around with. Do you think you can add a modifier for items in your house and maybe a search menu for items?
I really like and appreciate the editor.
If a beta 3 comes out, I would like to see:
- Ability to change my name and the town name.
- Ability to change the messages on the signs.
- The locations of cliffs and rivers reflected on map.
I don't think you can change the messages on the signs because they are probably hard-coded. But I don't know that much about hacking so I might be wrong.
I would think the boards are scripted, i.e. you can change them to a different script but unless you hack the rom on the disc itself its not possible.
if its anything like the ac:www game you can't change it, short of rom editing..
Furniture..
Only the Bulletin Board strings are editable (like AC:WW).
As mentioned, the signposts are hard coded (and language dependent)
For example, if you visit a Japanese town (running the Japanese version of the game), you will read the signposts in English. The NPCs will all speak English too.
There are a few customizable things, like the NPC's names and catch phrases. They are in the gamesave too, but with separate versions for each language.
Something interesting to support later on (but not a high priority)
BTW: I haven't tried what happens if an English visitor reads a Japanese Bulletin Board with non-English characters.
---
Also worth mentioning: the ACToolkit editor works on gamesaves for the Japanese game.
I keep getting the error unable to save. Why is this?
Make sure you don't have the save file open in another program.
Can you make it so you can make a town from scratch? Or could someone give me the dat file of their town to edit?
http://game-hackers.com/forum/showth...?t=1098&page=5 Try reading? k thx.
whatever...
how do i get the dat file then???
OT for ACtoolkit, but an interesting future feature:
> ...The NPC's names are stored in the save file? Why would they do that?
I suspect that's for downloaded content.
In the old AC:WW, there was a single byte for the species. That one byte gave you the name (eg: "Opal"), the default catchphrase (eg: "gronk"), the 3D model and texture/coloring. You could customize the one catchphrase. Very limited.
In AC:CF many things are separate. There are 7 (or 8?) different languages for the name and catchphrase. You can change them all. There are other attributes not yet explored. It also includes the texture map for the 3D model (it looks like the 3D models are fixed, but the coloring is flexible). Ie. you can create new kinds of Elephants, Frogs etc.
See this photo for a mutant Opal (Opal is normally green): http://www.aibohack.com/wii/teaser4.jpg
> So you're saying, for example, you can change an animals name? Would it be visible to people over wi-fi?
Yes, I've confirmed that works.
The name, catchphrase, and even the texture are sent over WiFi.
(in the old game, they sent a few bytes for the animal species and personality, very boring)

(Opal is normally green and named "Opal", Del is normally purple - I swapped their textures)

> So if all this is stored in the save file, this means we could potentially modify only a save file and create an entirely new villager: name, catchphrase, texture, and all? (of course, based on a 3D model already there)
Even better. You should be able to modify an NPC that is ready to move.
(in AC:WW it was called the "9th neighbor". In AC:CF you can have several of them waiting to move)
Over WiFi you can introduce your 'hacked' new character to other towns. That includes towns running on regular Wiis (no WiiBrew).
BTW: In AC:WW a similar trick was used to get Monkeys (a non-standard species) into other towns for people who didn't have AR hardware.

This will eventually happen, but IMHO it is low priority for the ACToolkit right now.
If you want to discuss this further, I'll start a new thread tomorrow with some USB Gecko addresses to play around with.
o k thnx GAMYR.
I like what DsPet did, almost creating a new animal. I would love to learn more about that. =]
Start that thread up when you can, I can't wait.
Awsome!
Nice work. Animal Crossing without cheating is like living without oxygen :P.
Lets start editing my world, to make it look like "Hyrule":D
BEST THING: Is the emotion modifier. No matter how long I have been playing AC:WW, never could find that guy in the game where I could get emotion thingies... without cheating, lol. (Dummy I know...)
He is in the theater on CF ;).
I remember that with the old Map editor (the moving thing) it was a feature added later into the software. I agree other things should be priority at the moment.
