Its not a bug in the tool kit, its just the way the game is programmed. The special types of buildings that will appear such as the fishing stand that would come during the fishing tournament still appear in the acre where your town hall used to be, but it won't appear if there is another building in the way. The special visitors however will still appear about 4 spaces in front of the town hall after it is moved. So either somethings in the way, you changed the acre that used to have the town hall with the acre editor, or its still there and you just missed it.
Anyways, i love this tool kit its pretty much already got everything i could possibly want in it, so everything else you add is just a great bonus, the only thing i want to know is if we will ever be able to use it to add buildings, like i really would like to have more than one fountain. lighthouses and windmills in my town, will this ever be a possibility?
When I move buildings, the stone 'path' in front of them disappears..
Can you make it change your friendcode, because when I want to transfer a save file from one wii to another, I can't go online anymore..

I remember in Animal Map you could change the tan of your character. Now, I didn't read the whole thread but I'm sure I'm not the first person to suggest a tan editor. That would be really great if you included it in the character modifier section of your program!

I will not be implementing a feature to change player and town names in v1.0 final. I will try getting that into the release after.

If you don't want to wait, you can try changing your town name with a hex editor. I was able to rename one of my test towns this way. In a brand-new test town, I found a total of 34 instances of the town name ("Craphole"). Note that the town name is stored in 32-bit format, so in the hex editor it will look like ".C.r.a.p.h.o.l.e". Plain old ascii code seems to work okay if you insert a 00 before each ascii code ("Craphole" becomes 0043 0072 0061 0070 0068 006F 006C 0065). For best results, it's probably better to replace the town name with a new name of identical length, though it probably wouldn't hurt things if you shortened the name as long as you included null characters in the blanks (0000 should work, or whatever the terminator character is).
After making the changes to RVFOREST.DAT, load the file into the ACToolkit (disregard any invalid checksum errors) and save the file from there to re-write the checksum, then try loading it up in ACCF.
There's probably more to it, and I don't know the implications of actually changing your town name, but you could give it a shot if you don't want to wait for Virus to implement the feature. Just make sure you backup your data, as always :)
I didn't try changing the player name, but I presume you could do it the same way as changing the town name.
Warning -- Your mileage may vary, editing the town name via hex editor can be dangerous! Make backups and proceed with caution.

This can be dangerous (I'd wait for ACToolkit to support it).
If you have a unique town name (like "Craphole" or "****Town") then the chances of screwing up are small. If you have a common name like "Jet" or "Vegas" or "Treehut" it will be very dangerous.
Where possible, pad out all unicode strings to 18 bytes by filling with 00. That's room for 8 unicode characters with 2 bytes of 00 00 at the end. As mentioned the Unicode characters are stored with the first byte (high byte) of 0 for ANSI characters.
As always, keep a backup!

Currently those don't exist in the Toolkits list, and would be awesome to get in there.
They are broken version of regular songs lol. Like regular songs with skipping or missing parts etc.

Great work as always. Worth the wait, just curious as to what the purpose of the export and import acres buttons are.
You can export your current acre layout to keep as a backup or to give out.
Alright then. i'm simply just an idiot with no common sense, I thought it meant exporting the individual acres that you had selected, not the town as a whole.
I forgot to mention that it will useful to those who have a USB Gecko.

Btw something I have noticed with acre editing with USB Gecko is that if you change a border then upload it again it won't change :/. At least it didn't for me.
*EDIT* Ok final version does not work virus. I have tried many things with it (even simple edits) I even took my old backup which I know works and just resaved it with version 1 final and same thing happened. After the game starts and the bus moves to show loading it just sits there and keeps loading forever. I am reverting back to beta 4

The only things that have the potential to change when saving without making changes are the checksums. I have not made any modifications to how those are calculated.

How do i use the save extractor? i put it on my SD card but it either doesnt come up OR if i rename it to boot.elf it says invalid application.
Homebrew. Yesterday i used a method using wad installer to make it so my apps can work cuz im on 3.4U. Should i downgrade my firmware?

Virus its all good sorry about that last night it was late and I wasn't thinking straight haha.
My save file isn't working... I used ACToolkit 1.0 and when I loaded into the Wii, it stood on the loading screen.
