The device used in this video was an Action Replay MAX DUO. Unfortuantly, it has been discountinued. It is still possible to backup and restore save files using a flash cart.
You can still find some AR Max Duo's on ebay though. Just make sure it's the Max Duo version (For GBA/DS) not the DS-only version.
