you COULD delete the homebrew but its not a good idea since homebrew has many features indeed.

re: Will Nintendo void my warranty if I install the HBC?

Like many licensing terms, they are written to keep the company's options open.
    US VERSION: http://www.nintendo.com/consumer/man...tytext_eng.jsp

If they want to they can deny your warranty for almost any reason.
So for example if you use a non-Nintendo licensed SD card, or put a sticker on the plastic case, or break the front bezel - then they *can* refuse to honor the warranty.

The Nintendo people fixing the hardware in general are not trying to rip you off. They want to fix the hardware and get on to the next unit.
If there is something expensive for them to fix (like replacing a motherboard that you spilled battery acid on), they will push back and make you pay.

See that related thread. In general don't do anything to piss off the Nintendo service technician. Removing the HBC before sending it in for service is a good idea.
Backing up anything important you have on the unit is strongly recommended.

Also the warranty is very limited (1 year in the US for the core hardware, 3 months for most other things).

The best answer is to learn how to fix things yourself or treat the hardware better. The Wii is a very solid console. Very few moving parts.
