Default Sorry that this is in the wrong forum.

I've had this probelm for quite sometime. On my windows XP Pro sp2, i have no start menu, inability to move any icons around, no internet, and I'm unable to run system restore.(I have a system restored at a point before). I live in Northern America, So April 1st has not past, so no conficker virus. I ran the boot cd (the one you use to install Windows) and ran the shell that is like a command line and nothing else. I was thinking to move the entire System32 from my desktop computer onto my laptop. (ChskDsk ran and there is nothing wrong with the disk) and i ran a registry cleaner. No errors. I am able to run cmd and command.com. I can run batch files and a file called TAT which if you haven't heard is a batch file data base. You could look it up. The error came after i installed it, so you can get it if you want, it's truly a remarkable program, but it also might have been my downfall. So anyone have a solution?

PS. I googled it. Nothing to help.
PSS. i worked hard on this paragraph,

If you can get to Safe mode. Do safe more with command prompt and type this in:
    %systemroot%\system32\restore\rstrui.exe

If you scroll to the bottom, there are files. I believe i used the regular one, not the remix.
