Online homebrew applications will work fine without having a flashed DS.

I don't know about you, but they didn't work for me until I flashed my DS. I don't know why. DLDI wasn't the problem since I tried it like a million times with and without it.

I assume you used FlashMe. This does not affect the ability of your DS to use WiFi enabled homebrew applications from a slot-1 flash cart.

Yeah, but I believe when you use FlashMe, it updates it with a different version of Wifi lib. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Wifi lib (also known as dswifi?) is just a library used to write homebrew applications with WiFi support. FlashMe does not install this onto your DS. The only good reason to install FlashMe on a DS with a slot-1 flash cart is to remove the health and safety screen or for the fail-safe feature.

Edit: My slot-1 cart works fine with homebrew applications on a non-flashed DS.

    Thanks for clearing that up.

Is it a DS Phat or DS Lite? I'm currently using a DS Lite. I get two magenta screens using the Picto Chat trick.
