Time to Blog

Rate this Entry
This is just a testing blog since Vash has just provided me the blog space (Thanks Vash). I will use this blog space mainly to discuss what I am working on.

In addition to developing and testing DiiLC, I have been investigating the content of brres file in the last few weeks (at one time, DsPet suggested me to learn more about MDL0 section in the brres file). I am thinking of developing brres viewer (not editing tool) that could take different texture/palette formats. But with a limited time that I have for game-related activities, this could be a long (but fun) project.

I would, therefore, be very interested to have some discussions with anyone who has tried to work with brres files. Any insight or issues that you found could become great guidances for me in learning this. So feel free to drop a word or two in this blog space. It will be greatly appreciated.

Cheers.

Hm...Well, the only thing I've done with the brres. Is change the texture. (With the LMT) I'd be willing to try to help with anything just Pm me. Sound like fun. Cheers.

Thanks for the offer. If you could help figuring out the unknowns (in the description column in my exploration # 0x01 blog) by checking their potential values in the various brres files, that would be great.

Since unfortunately, DsPet has not made any newer versions of the tools, I cannot do much with them for editing items whose texture has the types that are not supported by his tools. As an example, caladium (furniture number 458, if you want to find the brres file in Ftr directory) furniture item does not have a palette (and I think it has color type hexcode 0x0E). So what I would like is to learn more on the texture part and make a viewer to see whether the changes that i want to try work or not.
